Attorney Profile
A native of Charleston, Mrs. Brown graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelors of Technology in Business Administration and Charleston School of Law Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate.
After graduation, Mrs. Brown worked for the City of Charleston in the General Counsel Corporation Department. She became a Circuit Defender for the Fourth Circuit Public Defenders’ Office where she became a passionate advocate for her clients. She was instrumental in obtaining more diligence in law enforcement investigations when numerous cases were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. Mrs. Brown has numerous “not guilty” verdicts to her credit in cases involving murder, drug offenses, criminal domestic violence and other serious criminal charges.
Mrs. Brown has shown evidence of her dedication to the profession of law through numerous avenues. She served as Mentor for Palmetto Legal Services and also was President of the Black Law Students Association when it was recognized as the Organization of the year. Mrs. Brown’s commitment to her community is evidenced by her service on the committee for the Florence County Homeless Clinic and as a Young Lawyers 12th Circuit Judicial Circuit Representative. Furthermore, Mrs. Brown served as Adjunct Professor at Virginia College where she taught Medical Law and Ethics.
Mrs. Brown is a member of the National Bar Association and South Carolina Black Lawyers Association. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar, United States Fourth Circuit District Court where she currently practices as the sole practitioner and owner with The MLB Law Firm, Inc.

Because she was involved in so many fights at school, she was finally expelled and had to go before a Family Court Judge to decide whether she should be detained by the State.
